As someone who spent my entire photography career focusing solely on documentary style family photos, once I had a baby of my own, my perspective shifted. I did a portrait style photo shoot with my then 4 month old, and everything changed.

While I believe the documentary approach for family photography session’s is perfect for capturing stories for your children to have memories to look back on, the portrait style is gratifying for you as the parent to honour you and your baby’s relationship. It’s a session for slowing down and taking it all in.. for snuggling and loving on your babe in the beautiful, and quiet outdoors. The 'Parent & Babe' session is aimed for babies aged roughly between the months of 4-12 months: when they are strong enough to hold up their own neck, but not quite mobile enough that all they want to do is run away and explore :)
The session is called ‘Parent & Babe’ for simplicity sake, but please know that this session is not limited to parents only. Caregivers, grandparents, aunties, uncles, or anyone else with a strong connection to a little human in their life is welcome to partake in this session.
